LOST

LOST has been described as a combination between Survivor and the movie Castaway, but there is so much more to the show. The survivors of an airplane crash somewhere en route between Sydney and Los Angeles find themselves on a tropical island. Expecting rescue they scavenge some luggage and food from the wreckage, they make some fires and spend the night on the beach. In the night they discover that there seems to be a rather large creature that resides on the island. The plane split up on its way down so they decide to go try and find the cockpit and transceiver to help rescuers find them. They find the pilot alive and find out that they were off course without a radio so nobody will be able to locate them. After several days they understand that they are lost and will need a way to survive on their own. The creature continues visiting in the forest off the beach just out of sight. People begin to disappear, being dragged off in the night, and they reaize that the island has other inhabitants. They slowly begin to explore the island and discover it is a strange and mysterious place. They find ancient ruins, old scientific facilities, strange weather and voices in the jungle. Out of place animals, and continuous harrassment from the creature and hostile inhabitants. Through their adventures the survivors lives become intertwined and friendships even romances develop. In the face of danger they can only rely on each other. As viewers we discover that these strangers lives were, unknown to them, in fact already intertwined before crashing. They all have their problems and issues that they struggle to deal with. Their new situation offers them with the opportunity to overcome and find redemption. If only they can survive.
